How to Remove a Custom Domain

We see a number of questions by users in the Blogger Support Forums about how do they remove a Custom Domain that they had setup for their blog.

It's very easy to switch back to your old blogspot address.

Old Interface
If you are still using the Old Interface, log onto your blog and go to the Settings, Publishing page.

Then click on the Switch to blogspot.com link.

New Interface
In the New Interface you go to Settings, Basic and click the "X" next to the domain name to remove it.

I tried to do that, it said it's in use.  It won't let me change back.

I'm having the same problem as some others here. My domain is not listed on the Blog Address field anymore, and I can't find it anywhere. I keep being redirected... Does anyone know anything about it?

I'm not sure I understand how this custom domain thing works. I'm trying to make the ".com" domain for my wife's works' current web site and make that ".com" be their new Blogger web site's address. I went through the process and all I could get it to do was have the ".blogspot.com" domain redirect to their ".com" domain. Then the ".com" domain was redirecting to the "www.google.com" home page. I've been trying for hours to get everything back to normal so I can start over.

Am I misunderstand how this works? I want their official web sites' ".com" to be the domain for their new blogger web site instead of the old web site. I don't really need the ".blogspot.com" address to exist at all. I don't want old customers to think they typed something wrong and went to a fake web site when they type in the ".com" and suddenly see the ".blogspot.com" address in their address bar....

I am Having the same problem with www.kalancea.com . Did you find the solution? Would be very much appreciated from my side. It is completely illogical to me, in the blogger interface custom domain was removed and DNS as well. Still my domains directs me to google :-(

I found the solution for my case - The switchhost plugin of firefox was the culprit. Disabled it and everything went smoothly. Maybe this is also the case for you as you might have followed the same instructions as me for moving from blogger to wordpress.

Cheers
Michael
